Mae\u2019r aelodau\u2019n ymgynnull yn fisol i drafod agweddau ar hanes yr ardal, a gwahoddwyd nifer o siaradwyr i rannu gwybodaeth ac atgofion. Un o brif amcanion y Gymdeithas oedd cyhoeddi\u2019r hanesion mewn llyfr ar gyfer cenedlaethau i ddod. Mae\u2019r gyfrol \u201cMynydd Bach \u2013 ei Hanes\u201d, a gyhoeddwyd yn ddwyieithog dan olygyddiaeth Eirian Jones yn2013, yn nodi\u2019r allfudo mawr a fu o\u2019r ardal i\u2019r Unol Daleithiau yn y bedwaredd ganrif ar bymtheg,stori Rhyfel y Sais bach, dylanwad nifer o brifeirdd o\u2019r ardal, hanes busnesau llwyddiannus hen a newydd, o wneuthurwyr sanau ddwy ganrif yn ol i gwmni rhyngwladol Dwr Ty Nant a sefydlu cartref Sali Mali ym Mhentre Bach yn ein dyddiau ni, yn ogystal a son am draddodiadau, diwylliant ac adeiladau\u2019r ardal. Yn cydredeg a\u2019r testun gwelir llawer o hen luniau a gasglwyd gan drigolion lleol a lluniau trawiadol o\u2019r tirlun gan y ffotograffydd Marian Delyth. Cyfrannodd dros gant o bobl i\u2019r llyfr hwn, gan ei wneud yn brosiect gwir gymunedol, ac mae\u2019r cynnwys yn cwmpasu pentrefi Blaenpennal, Bontnewydd (Blaenafon), Lledrod, Bronant, Penuwch, Bethania a Llangwyryfon. Mae\u2019r gyfrol ar gael oddiwrth y Gymdeithas a llyfrwerthwyr lleol am \u00a315.00 + cludiant.<\/p>\n<p>Mae\u2019r Gymdeithas yn parhau gydag ymchwil pellach i rai o\u2019r meysydd a gynhwyswyd yn y llyfr, a bydd yn cynnal cyfarfodydd i aelodau ym misoedd Medi, Hydref, Tachwedd, Chwefror, Mawrth, Ebrill a Mai, gyda thestunau amrywiol a siaradwyr gwadd ac o blith yr aelodau. Rydym yn ceisio recordio cyfarfodydd ar gyfer aelodau sy\u2019n methu dod ar y noson ac ar gyfer archifau\u2019r Gymdeithas. Yr ydym yn sefydliad gwirfoddol hunan-gynhaliol, nid er elw, ac felly yn dibynnu ar aelodau i wneud ymchwil a chofnodi yn y meysydd sy\u2019n eu diddori, boed hynny yn hanes teuluol, agweddau ar ddiwylliant a thraddodiad, neu adeiladau yn yr ardal. Yna byddwn yn rhannu\u2019r gwybodaeth a gesglir, gan fod ymchwil gan un aelod yn aml yn berthnasol i faes aelod arall.
