Records show that this house was built in 1747; it is an exception to the usual houses in the area as it is more substantial in terms of materials and scale. It still retains a large original oak staircase and wooden wall-panelling in one downstairs room, and a large inglenook fireplace in the other. It is of stone-wall construction, built from an expensive hard stone from outside the area, and has a slate roof.<\/p>\n

A typical small cottage with a barn alongside (longhousestyle), it is still in its original configuration, with part of a wooden partition across the lower-floor room leading via a corner wooden staircase over the remains of a canopy fireplace to a single upstairs room.
